About me

Hello world!

Bellow I jogged down a bit of information about me.

My name is Marcel Dutu and if what my parents have been telling me is true, I have been in love with cars and driving before I was able to walk!
Believe it or not, I was 3 years old when I drove my first car.

I don’t remember how it happened or what lead to it. All I can remember is that my uncle had just bought a new car – a Dacia 1300 (known as the Renault 12 to the rest of the world). He took me out for a drive, put me on his lap and gave me control of the steering wheel.
Even now, as I am writing this, I remember vividly how amazing it felt to be in control of this huge machine made of metal oil and rubber. It felt like my arms were extending past my fingertips, as if i could touch the road we were driving on.

Following that, all I played with was cars. I remember using the lines on the living room carpet as race tracks and I would race my toy cars around.

We did not have internet back then and I couldn’t afford magazines. Instead I  would  look at the classifieds and imagined what each of those cars were like to drive.

I have been a car nut ever since. When I was finally old enough to drive, I used every bit of money I had saved up to go to Driving School and get my drivers licence.

I moved from Romania to Scotland in order to study and now, when I am not working, I use as much time I can (usually Saturdays, HA) to go out for a drive and explore this beautiful country.

There is more to me than cars though. This blog will revolve around cars and traveling but there are other things that I am passionate about.

For starters, I am an avid photographer. I love taking photos and sharing them with people. I hope that you will enjoy the pics I put up here and if you want more, I encourage you to give me a follow on Instagram.

Another great passion of mine is Olympic Weightlifting. I won’t go into too much detail about it here, but to me, Weightlifting is an amazing sport. I love the discipline, the focus and intensity I get every time I train and I am thankful to be part of a community that is both supportive and competitive. It helps me clear my mind and it motivates me to do better in all areas of my life.

Since I love driving, traveling and photography, I decided it would be a great idea to share my experiences with the rest of world in the form of this blog. My plan is to cover every bit of tarmac there is in Scotland and take you on a journey with me as I relive my experiences through my blog posts and my images. I also aim to write my thoughts about various cars I get behind the wheel of and give you a more real world perspective of what it’s like to drive a certain car. I also plan on telling you about what the best tips and trips for traveling around Scotland are, what the best roads to drive are, and how to make the best out of your stay here.

Hopefully you will find this content entertaining and valuable and if you’ve made it all the way down here, I hope I can see you again, in the comments section here or any of my social media!

Happy driving!
